Salam.
I have finished my fifth book in 2019 and the title was 'The Forty Rules of Love'. Usually I got my book recommendation from my friends, or suggestion from Aida Azlin, or from Bill Gates' instagram.
This last book, I can tell that the writer had spent quite a time to study on history and conclude the story. Actually, the conclusion is vague as it lies on what we believe in. The conclusion that a prosecutor hoped for a suspect in a murder case is he should get punished as stated by law. However, for a mother, she would hope that the suspect is not guilty and even if he is, she would hope for the lightest punishment to be concluded for her son.
My take away from this book is try to not punish others, as if we are the God, because we don't know what good others do, or despite whatever we saw on surface, it was very limited as we saw only that, and we are outsiders of the real affair. I believe this has something to do with why Malaysian girls throw or hide their baby from their out of wedlock relationship, because she was so scared about society's backlash as it was very normal for the people in our society to treat them like an outcast and express condescending act towards the unfortunate. Instead of look at them as a lady that commit unacceptable mistake, I think we should look at them as a new mother that need support.
